This is a Vedic chant that I first learnt in 1998 from my Sanskrit teacher at the time, Aja. The chant places peace everywhere, in the heavens, on the earth, in the trees and the plants and the divine beings and the creative energy. I have found it very comforting for babies and other distressed humans. It has eleven shantis in it.

I first learnt to chant them at the Satyananda yoga centre in south London in 1996, and then learnt another melody and poetic translation for the Purnamada chant from Mukunda Stiles.
